Christin has lived all around the country, from Texas to California, New York, Ohio, and Indiana, before settling down in Virginia where she has lived for approximately 7 years. Growing up in a military family, she is familiar with the various challenges that accompany families with spouses and children in the military. This experience helps her when representing those military families going through divorce, custody or other family law issues.

Christin attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts in political science while competing as a Division 1 collegiate athlete.  She finished her Miami Athletic Career as possibly the most decorated Miami Swimming/Diving Athlete in the history of the program when she graduated.  Three out of her four years at Miami, she qualified for the NCAA Division 1 championship meet, where only the top 41 divers in the country qualify to compete.  Graduating from Miami University with honors, Christin also earned 3 CSCAA Academic All-American awards, was named to the 2006 MAC Academic First Team, was selected for 2006 ESPN The Magazine/CoSID Second-Team Academic All-District honors, and was selected as the University’s 2006 Female Athlete of the Year.   At the completion of the 2006 NCAA Championships her senior year in college, she was invited to train for the 2008 Olympic Trials.  But after sustaining a broken ankle the Spring of her senior year, Christin decided to attend law school at Valparaiso University and follow her path towards becoming a lawyer.

Christin’s dedication to hard work transcended her law school career, finishing her first year at the top of her class.  Her advance writing skills and academic achievements in her first year of law school earned her a spot on the school’s Law Review (law journal).  Her success as an oral advocate earned her a position on the school’s international moot court team (JESSUP Moot Court), where the team traveled across the country to compete, and she ultimately served on the JESSUP Moot Court executive board committee in her third year of law school.  Also during her third year of law school, she clerked for the Honorable Julia M. Jent, where she wrote legislation to enact a permanent drug court, which utilizes the court’s legal system combined with psychologists and therapists to aid those young individuals that have fallen victims to drug addiction.

Christin’s experience and success in college, law school, and athletics is evident in her role as an advocate for her clients.  She understands that hard work and dedication is necessary to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.  Initially out of law school, she worked for a boutique employment law firm where she defended large companies and corporations on a daily basis.  While Christin succeeded in her position at her former firm, she left employment defense to pursue her passion of representing individuals needing legal assistance.  Prior to joining Beckman Schmalzle Georgelas & Ross, Christin worked at Lieblich & Grimes, P.C., where she was mentored by some of the top family law attorneys in Virginia.  In addition to representing her own clients, she is also engaged in the following Pro Bono activities: Legal Services of Northern Virginia, Pro bono through Fairfax County Bar Association; Pro Se Committee through Loudoun County Bar Association; Former Leadership in the Law – Co-Chair Director; and Loudoun County Bar Association – Co-chair of Social Committee. Christin has been listed as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for Northern Virginia 2016.
